Michael Symon leaves Parea
I thought this place was great the couple times i visited -- in part because i've always been fond of Symon's style. Wondering what direction it might take next?
From the article -
"Parea, featuring modern Greek and Mediterranean cuisine, opened in May 2006 to rave reviews. The restaurant recently closed for cleaning and renovations. It's expected to reopen in mid-September, possibly with a new name."
How much "cleaning and renovations" can a restaurant that's barely been open for a little more than a year need? Either they weren't making money (in spite of what they say) or Symon *was* Parea and the place is effectively dead without him.
