Takeout in downtown Ottawa

I'm looking for some decent takeout lunch in downtown Ottawa. I don't buy my lunch very often but I'm having real problems finding decent quality takeout (at any price). I will go for anything good but would love to find good Chinese or Japanese (bento).

I've just changed jobs and anything west of Bank Street is convenient.

Is this even possible?

Thanks!

    For Japanese take-out, you can try the following:

    - Genji on Lisgar (www.Genji.ca
    )- New Generation Sushi (no website)
    - Ichibei (no website)
    - Japanese Village (http://www.japanesevillage.net/

    )

    For Chinese food, the only one I can think of is: Oriental House Restaurant on Elgin. But I haven't tried the food there and don't know if they are up to your standard. But you can try and let us know here.

      Elgin street is a little too far - I'm over near Lyon. However, there are some good ideas here and I'm keen to try them, thanks!

      how far are you from elgin street? there are a number of suisha, bento boxes to go. at bank st just past sommerset (actually right across from barrymore's) is a bubble tea shop called temptation tea shop that has good salad rolls. herb and spice near there also has lots of good things to go.

      the german town deli is great for very cheap filling sandwiches. the scone witch on albert street, new generatio sushi on laurier ave, bridgehead coffee has nice sandwiches, panini and soups...
