Arturo's on Houston

IMHO, this place does not get the attention it deserves. I went here last night after waiting for an hour at Lupa and finally giving up.
We got a large half plain/half sausage, and it was awesome. Crisp crust, not too saucy, springy and fresh mozzarella, flavorful sausage.
Far better than Grimaldis and Lombardis.
Anyway, give it a try.

True, true. I haven't had them within a month of each other... but to me they *seem* quite similar. A side by side may reveal differences but the character of the crust is similar. They obviously come out of a scorching hot oven.

Totally, totally agree. This is the place I send folks for a true NYC pizza experience.

i wont disagree, ARTUROS a good 'za.

i am in the minority that i still usually like JOHNS, GRIMALDIS and LOMBARDIS too.

howver, due to work, LOUIS AND ERNIES in the bronx has been getting my pizza slice business lately. no complaints there, its fantastic - lol!

I agree its way under-rated...their diavolo pie is awesome. Much better crust than Johns or Lombardis...imo grimaldis when its on still shades it though...close though...Arturos def. has a better vibe/atmosphere.

I absolutely agree. Great pizza, perfect ratio of sauce and cheese. Not too heavy or greasy and the crust is amazing. My BF had a pizza with garlic, basil and prosciutto-- amazing!
