Caraway's or Corner Stone in Wayland?

I'm looking for a place to get a quick, decent breakfast in North Wayland on occassion. Has anyone tried Caraway's or the Corner Stone Cafe? Any other ideas?

Why would someone say something like "has anyone dared step foot in there?" Don't be so negative, the best gems are the smallest ones, right?

I've been to the Corner Stone and it's terrific. Great burgers and awesome sandwiches. Try one of their Panini's. You won't be disappointed.

I believe they did breakfast at one time but now have changed their hours for lunch and dinner,

Thanks, Admiral. I made the "has anyone dared..." comment not because it looks scary or dumpy, but because I know a lot of people who live in the area who complain about the dearth of good food nearby, and not one of them has ever gone there for some reason. I'm glad to hear it's "safe!"

I've been meaning to stop in and see if they've got a take-out menu. I'll ask about breakfast/brunch since that's mainly what I'm interested in.

If you're willing to travel a little farther to Natick, I really like the breakfasts at Gourmet Decisions in downtown Natick. They open at 7 Tues-Fri and 8 on weekends.

Funny-I faced this same decision earlier this week and my first inclination was to go to Cornerstone Bistro. However, it does not open until 11 am. I went to Caraway's and had a cheese and sausage omelette that wasn't very good. This isn't the first time I have been dissatisfied at Caraway's. For a cup of coffee and a pastry or bagel, it may be ok but I would probably go next door to whole foods for that. I think the egg dishes were much better at cornerstone though both places serve on disposeable plates.

Thanks for the post but I'm confused. (So what else is new?) Does Cornerstone do breakfast starting at 11am?

The last time I had breakfast there was awhile ago and I am pretty sure I was there before 11 so they may have stopped doing breakfast because as of last tuesday they do not open until 11. I was looking forward to their breakfast.
            Sorry about the confusion

Thanks. What would you recommend there (and avoid)?

I used to go there a lot when I was a kid (about 10-15 years ago) but I've heard they're under new management. How has it changed/what is it like now? I used to always get the sticky buns and almond croissants.

Unless the management changed recently, it's still being run by the Franklin's who run Franklin catering out of the same location. They have been running it for quite some time but not 10 or 15 years.

I also remember that Caraway changed hands in the last several years.

Oh, you're back to the original question!

I find Mel's passable, hands down. That said, it still might be the best breakfast in Wayland.

It all depends on what you're looking for. .....
I'm just as happy, gasp, at JJ Mckays for a traditional, non-PC,breakfast.

That's depressing. If I'm in south Wayland, I'll go the extra couple of miles to Bickford's for the Big Apple.

I was hoping there was something decent in north Wayland. Has anyone dared step foot into the Corner Stone?

Begs the question; why don't you? A path has to be started by someone, Grasshopper :-))

Isn't it strange that no one knows anyone who's ever been there? That's why! But Grasshopper will try to work up the nerve and report back.

Before your post I'd never even heard of it. The address look like it's where Wayland Pizza was/is correct?

It's a little farther down toward the light (intersection of 20 & 27), one or two doors down from the Phoenix Veterinarian Hospital.

It's that little place on the side street that you take if you're traveling east on 20 and want to turn north on 27, right? The little place you've seen dozens of times and though, "I wonder if anyone goes there."
