dinner in Culver City
I'd go with K-Zo. I had dinner at Beacon a couple years ago and it sucked. Way overrated. BottleRock is better for wine than food. If you want something to nibble on, they can help you with that, but it's really not a full meal place. K-Zo has decent sushi. I don't think it's on par with Sushi Zo, but it's not too bad.
Not sure what Shima is, but I'd go with Beacon, then K-Zo. Beacon is fun an has a wide range of Asian-fusion dishes. K-Zo is very good high-end Japanese, not cheap. Pretty traditional. Bottle Rock really does not have very good food at all and its chairs are horribly uncomfortable. Fine when you are there to down a bunch of wine, but not a good place for dinner per se.
