Carmel Restaurant

I'm bringing friends to Carmel next week. Can anyone recommend a GOOD restaurant that offers choices beyond steak and seafood (they don't eat either), is in the vicinity of Ocean Ave (I don't want to have to drive my car at all once we get there), and has reasonable prices (I'm paying for all). Thanks.

For three years in a row now I've stayed in Carmel while attending the Monterrey Jazz Festival and out of all the places I've eaten, this one has been by far the best:

They do have steak and seafood, but I remember having one of the most delightful roast chicken dishes and their gnocchi in a pesto cream sauce was heavenly. Unfortunately I don't remember the prices, but the website will probably give you some idea. Good luck!

Edit: Having just looked at the website, their menu had quite a few more choices. I think there were about 5-6 starter choices and 5-6 entrees...they didn't just have three options to choose from.
