I am attending a family reunion next month and staying in Pleasant Hills. Willing to drive 10 or 20 miles for good food. Any recommendations for dining in the East Bay?

Lots of good food in Walnut Creek only a couple exits south on 680. You might want to do a search.

In P.H., Monsoon Masala (Indian) and Left Bank (French-Am).
        Both excellent.

Luna, A&Noi both are quite good. Postino in Lafayette is a beautiful place with excellent food. Mediterranean in Concord is a good very casual place for falafel and shwarma. Memos in Concord used to be excellent, then went down a little, but I have recently heard that they are back up to being great. You are only a short (ish) ride on BART to Berkeley-Oakland and 35 min to SF.

Walnut Creek is loaded with restaurants many are so so (although the long waits might have you thinking differently), but agree w/above on the Yacht club.
