Downtown Brunch

I am running the NY half marathon in August and would like to go out for brunch upon completion of (to me)this momentous(hopefully) accomplishment. I was hoping to go to 5 Points but they went from too early to reserve to no reservations available. The race ends in Battery Park but please don't be limited by that. ANd I will be returning to my hotel to shower before going on to bruncn. TIA Adi

fyi, tried to go to Markt about a month ago only to find it closed! If folks are coming in from out of town, I think Pastis or Baltazar is good food and interesting people watching with a good NYC vibe. We have been to Blue Water Grill a few times and it was always good - haven't been in a while though.

Markt has moved to 6th Avenue and 21st Street and definitely is open.

What about Five Points sister restaurant, Cookshop? http://menupages.com/restaurantdetail...

While Cookshop is one of my favorite brunch places, it is quite far from Battery Park City.

Close to BPC there are PJ Clark in WFC (ok food) and Ulysses All-You-Can-Eat brunch (sunday only; with oysters, carving stations, omelettes, etc.) at Seaport. In Tribeca I like Landmarc or Blaue Gans.

Is this marathon on Sat. or Sun.? Do you prefer restaurants that concentrate on breakfast foods? Or would you like more of a lunch-type brunch? And how far north are you willing to go?

The race is on Sunday. More interested in lunchy then breakfasty brunch but because there will be a small group options would be ideal. Location is not as important because no matter where it is I will be taking a cab! Thanks

Oooo, then if that's the case, I'd say to go to Markt (I'm sure people want to never hear this places' name again!).
