Fish Tacos

woodcrest Jul 19, 2007 07:57 AM

Last weekend I headed to Nantasket Beach in Hull, which I heard was dreadfully cheesy but I found a great little place with Fish Tacos rivaling La Verdad’s. I think Ken Oringer is amazing and this new find, Hull’s Kitchen, seems to have found his recipe. The fish is beer battered and cleanly fried right while you wait. They are toped with cabbage and a dollop of guacamole, served with lime. They were perfect.
Enjoy the tacos on the covered porch overlooking the ocean… it was wonderful.

Sounds great! Where exactly is it? Do they have other stuff? Any alcohol? (mmm, fish tacos... it's making me hungry!)

Hull's Kitchen is at 19 Hull Shore Drive.
The menu has Taco options, pulled pork and wraps. Unfortunately they do not have a full liquor license... just beer and wine are served.

i'm a little late on the bandwagon, but i just had picco's fish tacos today. puts el pelon's to shame. two sauces (homemade taco sauce, avocado puree), delicious (panko-coated?) fish, and awesome vegetables on top. guess i should try la verdad's, you know, for comparison's sake . . . !

By Picco do you mean the Pizza and Ice Cream Company on Tremont St?

Yep, I had the fish tacos there a month or so ago, and they were quite tasty: a nice light fry job, two big tacos, a pretty substantial lunch for about $9.

I'll give another shout to Picco. Definitely delicious.

Agree. And I'll give another shout out to their Alsatian pizza. Really, really delicious.

Ditto those Picco fish tacos. Definitely tasty, and reasonably priced too.

Last time we had it, it was $12 for 3 tacos. Pretty substantial and panko coated instead of beer battered, but the size of the soft tacos wrappers is more what I expected when I said La Verdad's was smaller than usual.

I actually took a picture of them but looks like chowhound has disabled photo uploads for now...

Definitely a little pricier but I love the fish taco at Bonfire. And the lobster and tuna ones are equally tasty, as is the skirt steak. yum. I always just end up having tacos when I go there!

Seems like we had some good fish tacos a while back while visiting Summer Shack- however it was the one at Mohegan Sun. Not sure if the different branches have the same menu.

Finally made it to Hull's Kitchen! Very enjoyable experience all around. The view from the covered porch yesterday at 7pm was AMAZING! I had the fish tacos and a fresh Sam Adams(bottle)--The tacos were good--the owners were extremely friendly and pleasant. I will go back to try more...Shrimp tacos w/ guac sounded good too!

I've had Rubio's, El Pelon, Picco version of fish tacos before--these yesterday were almost as good ;)
But the atmosphere at Hull's Kitchen blew all of those away!
