What are thoughts on Aspen? My group of friends has celebrated too many birthdays at The Stanton Social and Aspen's online menu seemed to be the same style...sliders, chicken lollipops, etc.

How's the food? How's the atmosphere? Would you suggest Aspen for a birthday dinner?

Thanks!

I haven't heard much about Aspen (other than a Nicole Richie sighting there in US Weekly). Are you looking to keep the small plates theme?

Hmmm...how about: Boucarou Lounge, Leela Lounge, Earth NYC, Socialista (brand new).
Good luck! :)

Thanks Leah! Boucarou Lounge sounds great! I am hesitant about Socialista cause it's new, but I would be curious to know if anyone has been there and what the impressions are. I looked at the menus for Leela Lounge and Earth and they are totally up my alley, but some of my friends are picky eaters...but I plan to try those, too.

Glad to hear! And by the way, I LOVE your blog.
Boucarou Lounge is right near my boyfriend's apartment, and it's such a beautiful place. I hope you enjoy and report back! :)

I've been to both. The food at Stanton Social is much better. But Aspen is more of a scene (imagine someone spilling a can of white paint at Butter) Aspen had clubbier music than SS. Also I remember the bill at Aspen being outrageously expensive and we were only a group of four girls. But it fits the bill for a bday.
