5 dinners & 4 lunches! Here is what I was thinking...

Hi! I was in the city a few months ago loved it and your recs so I wanted to run this trips food itinerary by everyone. If something seems lacking or just isn't that great please let me know!
We are staying at Bleecker & MacDougal and are in our late 20's and would love suggestions for casual bars around the area that also serve food just in case we don't have time for one of the below places.
Thanks so much!

Dinners:
Lure Fishbar (first night dinner--seems close and fresh after a long day in a plane?)
Babbo (have reservations secured!)
'inoteca (we want to hang out in the LES for a night is this the best place to start the evening?)
Blue Smoke?
Momufuku Ssam

Balthazar (L)
Pearl (L)
The Burger Joint (L)

Wanted to try and squeeze in one more nicer romantic dinner for me and the boyfriend, was thinking EMP?

What do people think of Pylos? Is it worth substituting for one of the above?

For breakfast - check out Patisserie Claude (though he may be on vacation) and Rocco's for pasteries/espresso.

We for sure wanted to try Patisserie Claude and I am hoping he is back from vacation (we will be there in August) but thanks for the additional suggestion as we love pain au chocolates in the morning on vacations!

Someone posted his vacation dates - I'll try to find them.

        Edit:

He's on vacation until Aug. 2nd per this post. This thread might also be helpful to you generally.

Thanks! The new "search" functions haven't really been working for me...
Also, have I missed something can't miss?

I know this is slightly OT, but have you tried the "search this board" button? It's working pretty well for me. I'll try and think of other things in the area - certainly stop by Murray's Cheese and Faicco's (rice balls).

We are for sure heading to Murray's & Faccios. The "new & improved" search function doesn't pull up the threads in any reasonable form. Perhaps I am just resistant to change.

Theoretically (and in practice for me) the search by board, when you are on a board, does bring up threads by newest post.

I haven't been to Lure, so I can't comment. I would take Blue Smoke off the agenda--it's just not that good. Hill Country is better if you're looking for BBQ. I like Pylos, and it's a good place for Greek food if you're looking to have some in the city. That said, I wouldn't say that it's a restaurant that you can't miss if you come to NYC.

As for LES, are you looking for a place for snacks or dinner? 'inoteca is a good place for either. For dinner, you could also try Apizz, The Orchard, Tides, or Azul Bistro, depending on your cuisine preference.

In the Bleecker/MacDougal area, Blind Tiger Ale House is a casual bar that serves food, although I haven't tried the food.

We were thinking about going to the Blind Tiger Ale House--on Weds they have beer & cheese pairings?

On the LES I think we wanted dinner. I went to 'inoteca last time I was visiting and loved the truffle egg toast so if I could fit that in and another dinner that would work too.
As far as Pylos goes, Greek "non family style" (or what my grandmother made) has not made it out to San Diego yet and so I wanted to try a more upscale Greek place that didn't seem stuffy.

        thanks for the suggestions!

Also it seems that Blue Smoke is out.

Pylos is great and has the most charming and romantic (IMO) atmosphere.

FYI, 'ino, which is near where you're staying, also has the truffled egg toast.

And if you go, do have that dish.

Substitute Stanton Social for 'inoteca on LES, Kill Blue Smoke and substitute HILL COUNTRY; nix the Burger Joint and try BLT Burger....Book Annisa for romantic dinner over EMP.
