Best Rissotto in Manhattan

Hi!

I had the best rissotto in Brooklyn at Applewood a while back. Where can I find the best homey rissotto that won't cost me loads in NYC? Willing to go anywhere.

Cafe Grey's mushroom risotto. Used to get it at Lespinasse. Best I've ever had was in Montreal at The Hunt & Fish Club (in French-can't remember it) w/kurobota pork & shavings of foie gras absolutely melt in your mouth amazing...

Thanks for 2 reminders. I agree that Kunz's mushroom risotto is fabulous and bridged the gap for me remembering the dish from the L'Espinasse days. Also, the best risotto Mrs. GG and I ever had (she ordered it and I tried to steal it) was a foie gras risotto in montreal at Toque.

the best risotto I've ever had is at Nicole's on 60th Street. They do a different kind every day. It is fabulous--and you can order it in half-portions, which makes it even easier on the wallet. I often stop there for a half-risotto and a good glass of wine at midday.

The risotto at ViceVersa is always very good.

i second risotteria. although it is often very, very cramped, the risotto is soooo good and i don't know of any other place in manhattan that has a menu with over 20 risotto dishes.

since i like to keep it simple , i've had the classic w/ parmesan cheese, goat cheese and parsley, and the parsley and truffle oil . i've taken at least 5 friends there over the past few years and they all loved the risotto they had. we've been back many times. it's a bit expensve but it's a large serving with outstanding bread and oiive oil.

the caesar salad is also good as well as the pizza which is very thin and crispy.
service is a bit shaky sometimes but it's such a cool place . fun to watch the cooks preparing the risotto right behind the counter in view of the customers.

The duck rissotto at Aureole is great.

Also the duck risotto at Picholine. Dinner won't be inexpensive, however. Might want to try lunch sometimes- a better deal.

Second the duck risotto at Picholine. Haven't been back since the changes to the menu and the renovations. I trust they kept it on the menu?

Still on the menu (as of a few months ago). You can get it at the bar area, for a less expensive alternative.

I had the sweet pea risotto at Bolo a few years ago but it is still on the menu; it was good.

I've seen this place. Any that you'd recommend in particular?
