Can anyone tell me where I'd be able to buy some sorrel in and around the Toronto area?

Are you talking about the sour-tasting green herb, or the hibiscus flower used to make a bright red drink?

If it's the former, I've seen plants for sale at the Dufferin Grove Farmer's Market on Thursdays. You could also try an herb supplier such as Richter's. If it's the latter you're looking for, pretty much any market specializing in South American or Caribbean foods should carry the flowers. I've bought good quality stuff in bulk from the Mexican dry goods store in Kensington, on Baldwin a little east of Augusta. The flower is called jamaica in Spanish.

I was talking about the sour greens. Thanks very much; I'll check out the places!

Definitely Dufferin Grove, also the herb/vegetable stall facing you when you go in the front door of St. Lawrence North market.

My mom has a HUGE amount of Sorrel in her backyard. I can get you as much as you want. (it's the sour lemony, herb stuff)

          How did you grow it?

What is the best way of preserving it? Could I puree and freeze it?
