Kiriko's smoked salmon

I know I'm very very late to the party, but I finally tried Kiriko for the first time and loved it. Omakase Sushi lunch for 2 was only about $70 before tip. Others have written about this place plenty, but I just have to mention their smoked salmon with a little dollop of caviar. They smoke the salmon themselves with cherry or apple wood, and the result is a deep but light smoky flavor perfectly matched with the saltiness of the black fish eggs. Can't wait to return.

10- 4 on that. Was there last Thursday night and had cooked/sushi combo omakase. It was a last minute thing so we were confined to the 2 farthest seats at the sushi bar. I have yet to sit in front of Ken. Is there a big difference to do so? Our chef was excellent. I never learned his name.
We had to wait a while before we were served any food but he was apologetic and we could see how busy they were.
Everything was delicious. My husband does not eat red meat but he loved the wagyu beef. Melt in your mouth good. Other stand outs include the tender octupus, clam with uni on top, and of couse the green tea ice cream. Whenever I order it there, the waitress warns me that i'ts bitter. I guess some people complain about it but I think it's the best green tea IC I've had at a restaurant.
FYI, for two, with a large cold sake and an Asahi was $245 pre-tip. After 2.5 hours, we were very happy.
