Is Leoni-Grana Cheese still being made?

Hi Chowhounders,

Does anyone know if Leoni-Grana cheese is still available / being made. It used to be made in Camrose and sold all over Alberta, but I haven't seen it lately.

Former owner Emanuela Leoni of Camrose told me in 2006 that she was taking on partners, but when I phoned her in the spring of 2007, she said she had actually sold the operation to someone in the BC interior (Creston, I believe, but I'm not sure) and that she was consulting for them. No word since, but try phoning her (her husband still has a Camrose listing). If you have since found anything out, please let me know. I'd love to get some!

I've heard it's no longer being made. The woman making it retired.

That is my recollection as well. Was she not a member of the Quebec cheese-making Saputo family?

When I initially saw the quaere I was sure that I read something to that effect in the Edmonton Journal. Perhaps Judy Schultz's column but I tried "googling" without success.
