The amount of detail included from the interviews with major producers and recognizable names -- Lustau, Gonzales-Gordon (of Gonzales Byass), Osborne, Valdespino -- is far beyond what I had previously been exposed to. My favorite little bottles (Alvear fino 'En Rama', Bodegas Dios Bacos manzanilla) are produced by companies which were not featured in the article, which is from 1995 (12 years ago!), but among the larger producers it seems as though little has changed. I'm going to have to get me some Valdespino Palo Cortado and see what all the fuss is about!

If you have not had cold fino with some marcona almonds, rosemary, and good anchovies, please do... it is a wonderful snack for a summer afternoon. </content>
