Looking for NEW, GOOD, medium sized (100 - 250 seats) non-byob, non-chain, non-"Star" Resto in Philadelphia (besides Osteria)

I've been hitting Osteria about once a week and I've really been enjoying it. Are there any other joints in town like this (ones that fit the above)?

Thanks

Amada is fabulous, but not new. Not sure how much it seats, but definitely not a chain, good drinks, and great food. James on 8th is great, but small. Xochitl, also very good but smallish. Love their iced beer and a huge tequila selection. Ansill has amazing desert and a wonderful wine list.

James on S. 8th St. fits your requirements.

If you like fish/seafood, try Estia. They also have good lamb dishes. Classy.

I guess James is too small for you. We had a lovely dinner there. Run by people formerly at Vetri.

Go to Oster- uh, I mean Tinto! As bluehensfan says though, it's a bit smaller. Rae qualifies too, though it's not quite as new as either of those places.

I think Tinto is a bit small for what you're looking for and is a part of a quasi-chain, but is still very highly rated.

Your right, I'd forgotten about Tinto. I've really enjoyed it (along with another 100-250 seat Tapas restaurant in Old City). But like you said they are small. Has Tinto expanded yet? And what exactly is a "quasi-chain"?

                Thanks

Tnto is not a chain per se but another one of Jose Garces restaurants in town (like Amada in Old City and another one opening near Penn sometime in the future). I agree Estia is very good too (especially the octopus and fish) but is not new.
