Anyone else think Bizarre Foods is better this season?

Just got done watching the Mexico episode, and I must say I actually enjoyed it. Last season I thought he was pompous and hated the fact that every time he ate something "bizarre" he would say "cheers" like it was Fear Factor. He reminded me of early-Bourdain, before he got preachy and it was more about the culture and the food not geopolitics.
I just started watching the show so I think I've been watching a mix of repeats and new episodes. I find it hilarious that he happily drinks turtle blood and says how good a still beating frog heart tastes, but gags on and spits out fresh durian. I have enjoyed the episodes where his meals are are less Fear Factor and focus more on differences in culture and unique regional food (stuff that I would be more likely to eat).
I never watched the show until they did a mini-marathon last week, and now I'm addicted. I agree that the first episode he did was kind of sucky. Actually, Zimmern has inspired me to try things I wouldn't normally eat. Last Friday, I ordered tripe in my pho... always being afraid of eating the lining of a cow's stomach. I actually liked it.
I agree. Also, what he's eatten so far this year are not covered as much as others. It was getting boring last year when almost every thing he tried and went you can find in on other Discover or Foodnetwork shows.
I must agree the Mexico episode was pretty awesome - I too wanted to start a topic here on it. I enjoyed how he covered all levels of the cuisine - street food (Jumiles etc), homestyle cooking (armadillo in Oaxacawith Trilling), rebirth of traditional indigenous cuisine (Chon Restaurant - fantastic), and a great part with Quintana and her restaurant Izote regarding alta cocina.
All in all - one of the latest great hours spent watching the boob tube.
I thought Armadillos carried The Plague? I don't like him...he just seems so amazed with himself.
