We went in Oct. and I absolutely loved Cockeyed Gull. We ate 4 meals there: 1 breakfast (fabulous, had my favorite of fresh lox, cr cheese, lemon wedges, red onion, big beautiful capers and sour dough rounds) - hubbies was excellent too although I can't recall, I was too busy moaning over mine. 1 lunch there, had the best fried calamar - very simple but nicely done, not overpowering batter, perfectly fried. Hubby got a nice fish sandwich, maybe haddock. We had dinner twice - hanger steak which was excellent and the other night was a fabulous scallop dish, might have been in an asian sauce but not much. We recommended this place to a couple that just got on the island celebrating their anniversary then ran into them as they were leaving the place and they were really happy with it.
The other restaurant is in the Inn, pub style, ok food but I could have eaten every meal at Cockeyed Gull - it was just soooooo excellent. Everything was just soooo perfect and the service was great.

You know Lexpatti, I'm starting to think someone in your family owns the Cockeyed Gull. This must be your fifth post raving about them ;)
We go to Peaks every year. The Cock eyed Gull is okay - probably the best on the island, but that isn't saying much. The Inn is okay, again, nothing special. Nobody goes to Peaks for the food.

That is funny, I could see that. No, might be that it was a sooo needed get-a-way after selling a business that was killing us. But really did love the food, as others have mentioned too. Had we gone into Porland for some great dining, I would be raving about that too but we didn't. I don't often get to Maine but love the White Barn Inn too.
