Chocolate Eruption Cake

Chocolatemama Jul 16, 2007 03:11 PM

I absolutely LOVE the Chocolate Eruption Cake that is served at many of the chain restaurants (Swiss Chalet, East Side Mario's)! It is a very thick chocolate cheesecake that is surrounded by a chocolate cake-like crust, it has chunks of caramel topped cheesecake and nuts mixed into the chocolate cheesecake and is topped with chocolate and caramel sauces. It is to DIE for! I would like to buy this cake for a birthday (mine!), but I have never seen it sold whole anywhere. Has anyone seen this cake sold anywhere? I believe it is made by Lawler's Desserts.

This is an extremely delayed response, but I thought I would post for anyone else who might happen to come across this question.

I believe the Eruption cake is made by Baker Street Bakery in Toronto. They supply future bakery and the williams coffee franchise IIRC.

I wonder if you are referring to the Choc. Fantasia Cheesecake made by Gourmet Baker (they serve the food industry).

        Check out this link:

Do they sell to the general public or just service the trade?
