Market in Del Mar-anniversary report

Had a lovely dinner at Market on Friday night...We were originally going to head to Anthology, but decided we'd save that for another time, since I've been dying to try Market.

Started with the Seared Hamachi appetizer and Dungeness crab tortellini. Amazingly good. The tortellini had a good amount of crab and were served in a lobster style bisque. We used the yummy bread to soak this all up!

I ordered the bacon wrapped scallops with braised artichoke ravioli and my hubby ordered the kobe beef flat iron steak. The artichoke ravioli was tasty, and the scallops were tender, but had a very strong seasoning (cumin, I think) that was a little too overpowering for the dish. The steak was amazingly tender and had a side of blue cheese au gratin potatoes...YUM.

All in all, a lovely dinner, and well worth the trip!!

This all sounds so delicious. Is Market right there across from the race track, if my rusty memory serves?

That's where it is and it is wonderful! We had an amazing dinner there in May, still raving about it!

Market is east of the track, at El Camino Real and Via de la Valle.
