Union Picnic in Williamsburg closed

Not sure if it's permanent or not, but their doors are closed and I found a comment somewhere saying that it was due to the health department. Either they are remodeling or they are done for good - anyone know?

    1. It's permanent. When I stopped by yesterday, I found four Chinese workers taking a break inside the gutted interior. There's a liquor-license application notice on the window, too, but no indication of just what's coming next. (The workers were all smiles, but that's about as far as our communication went.)

        Union Picnic has now been replaced by a place called Jimmy's Diner - looks like Southern influenced.
