Re: Middle Eastern Grocery

Hey Folks,
I just got home (Los Angeles) from Chicago and had a question. I couldn't find the Middle Eastern grocery that's at Foster and Clark. Is it out of business or am I blind/an idiot... or perhaps both? I saw the Persian store on Clark at Berwyn, but that is definitely not the place I was looking for. I want the one with the stuffed sandwiches and has the braided Armenian string cheese in the refrigerated case. I am bummed I couldn't find the place. It is sort of a tradition to bring home the stuffed sandwiches or eat them on the plane. Oh, and thank you for the exquisite weather (including that thunderstorm on Tuesday)!
Love, Kiwi

You missed it by ()that() much. It's just a little bit west on Foster on the north side of the street.

damn it. So close, but not close enough! Thanks Bryan. I wish you had been there Friday night, when I got off the bus. You'd have saved me some grief! I looked up and down Clark, but not up and down Foster. I thought it was at the corner. Grrr. -So bummed. Oh well, I guess it will have to wait 'til I return in September!

Don't feel too bad hon. It used to take up the corner too. You could walk into the store from a little food stand they had right there. And when you come back, make sure to have some lunch at Taste of Lebanon across the street. Excellent falafal.
