Restaurant for lobster? (SEA)

gmm Jul 15, 2007 04:16 AM

A friend of mine is looking for a restaurant in Seattle to take his parents for a nice lobster dinner. Is there such a place? Yes, I know, crab would be a better choice in this area, but they want lobster. Thanks in advance~

gmm, I'm not a big fan of Morton's, but their Maine lobster is flown in daily and is terrific. Expect to pay dearly for the experience. Personally, I feel the best seafood dish in Seattle is the Szechun crab at Seven Stars Szechuan restaurant. It's truely incredible.

In another thread is a caution that the chef(s) from Seven Stars Pepper left to open their own place, and the original in the ID is no longer as good. Look near the end of the thread "In Search of Great Chinese Food in Seattle area". (Sorry, I don't know if it's possible to link directly to that thread on this board.)

I have not been to the Seven Stars Pepper recently enough to have personal experience on the current status.

I still think seven stars puts out very good quality food.

Randy, We were at Seven Stars last week and had the Szechuan crab (along with several other dishes.) All the dishes were excellent and the crab was outstanding.

The original owners left 2 years ago. That is very old news.
There have been other staff/chef changes more recently that I have been less than happy with, but I still think it's the best Chinese in the city.

Maybe the Oceanaire? I know it's a chain and all, but it sounds like your friend's parents are looking for something traditional and not too adventurous.
