I've been told that a bakery in the Mitsuwa Market building on Third Street in Little Tokyo is going to be replaced by a Beard Papa.

  1. Do you mean Ginza-ya? Well woo-hoo for Beard Papa!

Yes, I was told it's going into the old Ginza-ya space that's been vacant.

    2. This rocks. Do you know when?

My mouth is watering just thinking about it. When my wife and I were in NYC, we risked missing our flight because we decided to stand in line and wait at Beard Papa on the Upper West Side. That unforgetable cream puff was well worth the hassle of rushing to the airport!

      2. Does anyone know if this has opened? I just tried my first Beard Papa cream puff this weekend in San Francisco. YUM! I didn't realize they were here in L.A., too. I work very close to Little Tokyo and would love to introduce these little gems to some co-workers. I know they would love them. I also saw on the Beard Papa site that some Famima stores have Beard Papa, but only until November 2nd.

They have/had then at the Famima near roy's (Fig and 9th). I was amazed at how good they are! I remember seeing their logo at Hollywood/Highland but thought it was a new swedish coffee shop.

        2. It's open. I went today to get one. I have to say, I think maybe my puff was a little "old", but that didn't stop be from finishing it. I don't know how much traffic they're getting, so maybe it was a puff from yesterday? Either way, it's probably my closest location so I'll probably be back.

          1. Whoa! This is big news! Thanks!

            1. I haven't been to an actual Beard Papa location, but I tried the cream puffs they were handing out at an event at the Paseo Colorado mall. Loved the vanilla filled ones. Great flavor, light--didn't sit in my gut like a rock. I'll look forward to trying some of their locations as I find them.
