Eating at a bar

We are in Chicago for 3 nights in mid-August. Will probably go to Alinea or Trotters one night. We would like to try as many different restaurant/bistros/cafes for the rest of the time. Ideally sitting at a bar, with a great glass of wine, and a few tasty appetizers, and moving on to the next place to repeat. If anyone is familiar with Toronto (where we're from) I'd like something similar to these places:

JK's wine bar
Niagara Street Cafe
Rosebud
Cava
Coca
Crush
Jump
Canoe
Noce
Thuet

Thank You!

For those of us not familiar with Toronto are there particular cuisines or atmospheres you are looking for?

I recently had a great experience eating at the bar at Avec, and with their small plates format, it would be a good option for a night where you're visiting several places.

Blackbird is a great place for lunch at the bar (I don't belive they'll do dinner at the bar at BB) Naha is also a very good choice for lunch or dinner at the bar.
