just looking for recommendations of a place to have a beer or two and maybe an appetizer of some sort this afternoon/evening. not picky at all, but a decent draft beer selection would be nice. thanks in advance.

I ate dinner the other night outdoors at James's Gate in JP!

the alchemist lounge in JP has a recently-opened patio. i'm not the hugest fan of the food there but they do have a good beer selection and excellent cocktails.

more options in roslindale--as already mentioned, both Geoffrey's and Sophia's Grotto are good places to get beer & light food.

I think Geoffrey's might be my personal favorite for outdoor dining in that section of Boston. They have a nice little garden and a working fountain in the patio area, and the people who work there are about as friendly as you will find. Good food, too!
