West Village delivery/takeout

I'm moving! To W. 10th and Hudson... any recommendations on good delivery or take out? I'm open to all kinds of cuisine.

Hi, I live at the same intersection (welcome!). Not sure if this'll help but literally every place delivers (or can), even toothpaste. Just ask and/or be prepared to pay exra for the convenience

Somebody on top of this thread already mentioned this, but Galanga (Thai) is fantastic. We also order from Dallas Jones BBQ on Houston. They have great regional american (not sure if that is the right term...) food and big portions. I think Snack delivers too - it's not cheap but it's amazing.

How has Dallas Jones been lately? For a while it was really good and then a few times in a row it was almost inedible and we haven't tried again in months...

Oh no...I'm sorry to hear that. They are always so nice and so quick. I regularly order the 1/2 rotisserie chicken and mac + cheese. My BF orders the pulled pork sandwich. Everything has always been delicious. I hope the next time you order there works out much better!

After a few years in the are these are the places that I've found to be most reliable and with the best food:
        Karahi- Indian
Moustache- Middle Eastern (and part of the Slow Food movement!)
        Arturo's/Bleecker St/Joe's- Pizza
        Grand Sichuan St Marks- Chinese
        Westville- American
        Boyd/Kobma/Galanga- Thai
        Pio Maya/Florencia 13- Mexican
        Noodle Bar- um, noodles
No great sushi delivery in my opinion, but Kirara on Carmine St does takeout and they're my favorite in the area. Enjoy!

It's not necessarily the best (although it's not bad), but Mama Buddha for Chinese is the fastest take out EVER! Seriously, I live about a ten minute walk from there and I have had meals delivered within 7 minutes of ordering. (We started timing them just to see how fast it was). They are right by your new home. Welcome to the neighborhood.

We tried them the other day (we tend to be partial to Grand Sichuan). The veggies were really good and fresh, but other than the everything else was pretty mediocre. Maybe we're not ordering the right stuff... any recs?

I too tried it the other day and was terribly underwhelmed. I don't know chinese food the way I'd like to, but if that's good chinese then maybe I don't want to know chinese at all!!

I didn't say it was great. It is just okay. (Although better than some local places and the scallion pancakes are good.)

I said it was very fast.

Mamma Buddha is good for simple steamed chicken or shrimp and veggies. They will make you whatever you want, no menu needed. The ladies at the phones/front are so nice, they have won me over. Their moo shoo chicken is good, very clean tasting. They also make a nice tofu and vegetable soup, not on menu. Quality is good here, which is important.
Good delivery in this area is a bit tough, Sakura Hana is good for basic sushi, fresh but not a huge menu. A new Lenny's opened on Sixth Ave for healthy salads and good sandwiches. Steer clear of Hudson Diner and Kobma Thai - both were closed for a few days by Board of Health. Not sure why, but that just skeeves me out.

I think that in the past six months half the restaurants in lower manhattan have been closed by the health department for a couple days, it doesn't necessarily mean anything...
