Diabetic Restaurants

  • 2

Any restaurants that anyone would recommend in the Md-DC area that would be good for diabetics? It's difficult to adjust the meals in "regular" restaurants without making the foods bland.
Thanks-

  1. My feeling on some of the higher end restaurants that I've been to (in particular Equniox springs to mind) if you call before going and mention what your diet requirments are they will cater to your needs. I'm not a diabetic at all nor have I dined recently with any but I think if there is a certain restaurant (especially with well-known and respected chefs) that you want to try you can try calling before hand to see what they can do for you.

If a steakhouse is particularly good for diabetics I love Prime Rib for a classic DC feel.

    1. Folks, the goal of this board is to share tips on where to find great chow in the DC-area. Please share your thoughts on what DC-area restaurants would meet willie 2's request.

willie 2, if you'd like general advice on dining out with diabetics, please post to the General Chowhounding Topics board. We've removed some off topic posts from this thread on that topic. While we appreciate the helpfulness of local hounds in sharing their experiences, it distracts from the very narrow focus we have on this board. We hope those hounds will repost their answers on a thread on the General Topics board (please send us an email at moderators@chowhound.com if you need the content of your posts to make it easy to repost.)
