Underated Restaurants in Baltimore
I've been thinking about your post for some time, and all that kept coming in my head was the number of overrated restaurants in Baltimore, not vice versa! But, there is one, I think, that perhaps doesn't get the attention it deserves, either on this board, or in the local press, i.e. Baltimore Sun, Baltimore magazine, City Paper, etc. And it is Nasu Blanca in Locust Point. I went with a friend about a month after it opened (which was over a year ago) and I was surprised by how sophisticated, intricate, and good the food was. I really like the concept, mix of Spanish and Japenese items, especially since my dining partner is Asian, but also because I like having tempura as an appetizer and then selecting a saffron dish for my entree. We've never been disappointed, and I think it's well worth the money.
