Kitchen Aid News

Hey Hounds.

I was just in my local Costco (Newmarket) and noticed that the kitchen aid stand mixer was on sale for $299.
It's a bargain. I got one about 7 years ago and have loved it ever since then.

Don't know if it's chain wide or just in Ontario or what.

Also check places such as Williams-Sonoma after the holidays, especially Christmas. I got my KitchenAid stand mixer NIB for $150 because it was red and they didn't want to stock a red mixer after Christmas. Of course, a few months later, what was in stock for Valentine's? Yep, red mixers.

The mixer is listed on their website at $299 with a note that it is available at some stores at the same cash and carry price. One thing to note is that earlier this century Kitchenaid started utilizing a plastic worm gear in several of their models. The plastic gear is supposed to make the mixer quieter and protect the motor from damage if the beater gets stuck by shattering instead of burning out the motor, but there have been complaints that the new units just aren't as rugged as the old ones due to this gear change.
