Yankee Stadium Club

Anyone have any feedback on the food at the Yankee Stadium Club?

  1. Forget it. Crowded, noisy, food sucks.
Leave yourself a little extra time and try take out from the Giving Tree.
    Plenty of links...just search.

Yes. But its the Feeding Tree. A small Jamaican/West Indian restaurant a few blocks from the stadium. Although the Giving Tree was a wonderful book by Shel Silverstein. Also, you could go to the cuchifritos (El Mulino Rojo) which is also nearby.

Or you could go to our fave on Arthur Ave. -Pasquale's Rigoletto

This thread comes up a dozen times during the baseball season...just to be clear: Arthur Ave. is in no way walking distance from the stadium, whereas the Feeding Tree (thanks for correcting me...guess I forgot the gingko this morning) and El Mulino are steps from the stadium and from the 161 St./River Ave. subway station.

And...if you're going to the Feeding Tree, be prepared to wait an eternity for your food. I curse myself for going back there every time I go back there, but their food is really excellent. Do get the curried goat.

Average wait is 20 minutes. Enjoy a Ting while you wait, read the Caribbean News and schmooze with the workers. Long live slow food: you know you're getting freshly prepared food. Jerk shrimp and steamed snapper was our last take out order before a game two weeks ago (Yankees won). You'll have to change to a clear plastic bag before entering and you can't bring bottles or cans into the stadium.
