Good Value Japanese in Manhattan?

I have friends in town this weekend. We're going for Japanese tonight, in a group of about 7, and want somewhere reasonably priced (i.e. cheapish) with decent food. Any ideas?

The caveat: my friends don't drink at all and bar-type places are probably out.

I think a great authentic yet reasonably priced place is Takahachi in the East Village (Ave A around 6th St). They have great cooked dishes but decent sushi as well. Their early bird special is a real bargain.
