    Also, do we need reservations and/or what is the wait time?

      Ssam bar doesn't take reservations.

        they DO take reservations for a party of i think 8 or more-i asked in person -perhaps if it is a very slow night they might reserve for less.

      i just went on Monday night. The sweetbreads were really good. Also liked the artichoke dish.

        the three terrine sandwich (banh mi) is the best banh mi ever.

        the sweetbreads are great.

        the rice cakes with spicy pork sausage are spicy but good...id definitely share this one.

        and the brussel sprouts of course.

            I ordered both the bahn mi and the pork bun when i went. Both are fantastic. However, I wouldn't order them together - it was like eating 2 sandwiches!

          i absolutely loved the benton's ham with "redeye gravy" - it's a coffee flavored mayo, but don't let the odd combination of flavors turn you off. just fantastic! and they serve it with some of that sullivan street bakery bread that makes me swoon.

            i just went for the first time this week. the pickles are really excellent. the sugar snap peas are sweet and crisp and balance well with the porky bits and broth. i also had the clams with rice cakes, and i really loved it. the clams are small and tender, and the bits of chinese sausage - yum. there is also a little bit of spice to it, and the broth is very flavorful. i also loved the chewiness of the sliced rice cakes, which really absorbed the taste of the broth. have fun!
