Silverton has said her inspiration for her pizza came from a bakery in Rome in the Campo di Fiori area. I know about the Forno Campo de Fiori and the Antico Forno from my last Rome visit. Does anyone know which one she is referring to? Am planning a return trip in October and pizza is a favorite.

nancy's pizza does not resemble pizza in roma at all, actually. and she might admit that her pizza is not indicative of almost any pizza in italy. she did, however, draw her inspiration from ANTICO FORNO which, yes, is a bakery and makes fabulous flatbreads. my understanding is that this is where her inspiration was derived.

if you love pizza in rome, our favorite is DA BAFFETTO and far seconds are AI MARMI and 'GUSTO.

don't miss the gelato at SAN CRISPINO and the espresso at SANT' EUSTCHIO and TAZZA D'ORO.
