breakfast, lunch or tea by Dwntn Bkly BART?

Looking for a good casual spot within walking distance from the downtown Berkeley BART station, for either breakfast or lunch, or even tea and a snack. I need to meet with someone over a quick bite (must be close to Shattuck/BART), but this is not the part of Bkly I normally associate with good eats... Any suggestions are much appreciated. Anyone tried Au Coquelet Cafe or Venus or other (need not be fancy!)? Thanks!

Venus is a few blocks south of the Downtown Berkeley BART station. The quality of ingredients is good, but each time I've gone for lunch over the past several months, I've come away thinking it was too expensive and the service was too lackadaisical. A place that's both closer to the BART station (a short block away), more flexible (if you decide on just tea or a snack, for example), and friendlier is the Jazz Caffe on Addison, just off Shattuck and in the same building as the Berkeley Jazz School. It has baked goods, a good coffee/tea selection, excellent salads, panini, soup, etc. You order at the counter, and they bring the food to you.

Angeline's, Jayakarta (Indonesian), La Note (Frenchy), or Ryowa Ramen.
