      1. Don't do Sylvia's. Soul food in NYC comes in different varieties so you can have more upscale like Melba's or Londel's...old fashioned like Copeland's and Charles' or Touristy like Spoonbread and Amy Ruth's.

              Manna's doesnt belong on a "best list"--its a salad bar at the end of the day.

                I agree. Manna is the place you pop into when you want to grab something...kind of like the McDonald's of soul food.
