We are going to a drink buffet later this summer (of course, we will be doing munchies and appetizers all night). I have seen the ones on this site as well as done some searches. Some are doing blender drinks while others want some non creamy refreshing drinks.
I have tried so many mojito recipes and have not had ones that remind me of the ones in Mexico (made with simple syrup, dark rum, soda water, fresh mint, and stirred with sugar cane). Anyone have a good recipe?

We are trying to stay away from the traditional pina colada, margarita, daquiri.

Also, looking for a recipe for Banana Monkey and another called Passion Fruit (which is reddish, simple syrup with some cream that has been whipped in a blender).
Recipes?

What are your favourites that are unique?

This isn't too unique, but I think a Dark and Stormy (Gosling's rum and ginger beer) might be a nice change from a mojito, which are a lot of work to make for a group.
