San Diego beer/food trip report
Thanks to some of your suggestions, we enjoyed a wonderful but way too short beer and eating trip to SD. We stopped at Pizza Port on the way -- pizza was kind of bready but our teenager thought it was amazing; beer was great. We were lucky to get in at the Linkery right away with no wait -- I would kill to have this place in L.A. -- not sure what everyone was complaining about, but we have very, very little of this quality at this price range. Best beer I've ever had was the cask-conditioned Alesmith IPA at the Linkery.
Lunch the next day at Stone World Bistro was also excellent -- again, nothing approaching that kind of atmosphere and quality anywhere near L.A.

Thanks to San Diego hounds -- can't wait to go back and try some more pubs and maybe some Vietnamese food.

glad you enjoyed the trip, both places I think are very interesting and we are lucky to have them in San Diego. The artisan/Slow food movement is growing in popularity and both places are at the forefront of it in San Diego (r.i.p. Region). Its too bad many people can't see food for anything beyond its price tag or advertising campaigns.
