Best Pork Ribs in LA?
I'm originally from the midwest, wonder if there are any local BBQ Rib joints that beat the chains (Lucilles, Tony Romas, etc). Baby Backs or big ones, don't matter as long as they are succulent, tender, fall-off-the-bone pork ribs with legendary flavor. Dives are OK, preferred actually if the ribs are fantastic.

My vote hands-down goes to the original Phillip's in Leimert Park (4307 Leimert Blvd.)
I like Outdoor Grill at the intersection of the 2 Washingtons in Culver City. Not really spicy, but great smoked flavor. They also do chicken, beef ribs and tri tip.

My absolute favorite is Robbins in Pasadena. Robbins is the closet thing I've found on the west coast to a southern smokehouse joint. Great variety of meats and sauces and you smell the wood smoke from a half mile away.
I travel for ribs and have not found anything better in California however, I will say that Houston's does a fairly good job as well. Its a bit pricey but you get a good solid rack like they care about what they are making.
