Best lobster roll - south shore

In Cohasset, looking for an outstanding roll this evening, if one is to be found. Any suggestions?

I second the Hingham Lobster Pound. They are the best in the area. Always fresh. Stay away from Jakes. It's way overpriced for mediocre food. Also, I didn't find it all that clean.

Jakes but they make a lobster roll not a lobster salad roll. It's pure lobster with mayo or butter on the side. I go for the butter and enjoy it thoroughly!

We grab a zipcar and take a ride down there a few times a year. Last time was a month ago and we had good food and very good service.

But the meat was terrible, mummified, it must have been out of the lobster and in the cooler for at least a day. Fresh out of a can would have been more moist. That 'mayo on the side' bit also doesn't work for me at all. And please toast the roll. I can forgive novice wait staff however.

Never had their Lobster Rolls but their other fish is very good at 2 places: Hingham Lobster Pound in Hingham and Jake's in Hull.

Not Jakes, I'm sorry to say - as it's been a sentimental favorite of mine. I went there last weekend and the lobster roll was terrible - grey, cold, tough meat, and untoasted roll, and mayo on the side (sure, spread it on with your knife!), the service was also terrible with just about nothing done right. This is the third time I've posted on this as it still annoys me.

The steamers were ok though.

That's too bad about Jakes. I always liked the lobster rolls there, but again it's been awhile since I've been there. For me, the mayo on the side is a good thing. Have you tried DiNero's? Haven't had the lobster roll, but their baked stuffed lobster is good.
