Town, on 56th, b/t 5th & 6th, serves superb New American cuisine in a drop-dead gorgeous space. Upscale but at $76 for the 3-course prix, considerably less than Le Bernardin's $107 for 3 courses.

Amalia, on 55th, b/t B'way & 7th, serves delicious New American cuisine with Mediterranean leanings in a space with very stylish, hip decor.
