English Ales Brewery

For all of you near or going to Californias central coast I would suggest English Ales Brewery. A great little brewpub in Marina CA, the food is good but the beers are terrific. The Big Sur Golden and the prohibition Lager stood out for me. Address is 223 Reindollar Ave in Marina. Hard to find but its worth the look.

I too have had mixed experiences with their bottled product but I very much enjoyed everything I had on tap when I visited a few years back.

Their Winter Ale Special Reserve 2003 is one of my all time favorite beers. Not sure whether they are still brewing this, however, as their website appears out of date and their beers are only rarely reviewed on Beer Advocate and Rate Beer.

I tried a couple of their bottled beers a couple of years back and was unimpressed. Maybe they've improved since or it's better on tap.
