Looking for the best bakery in st.louis

Staying at the Clayton on the Park hotel and would like to pick my wife up some french pastries tomorrow morning. Can anyone recommend a great bakery close by? Thanks for all your help!

Try Companion Bakery - They wholesale to many restaurants but also run a cafe in Clayton on Maryland Ave. which is very near Clayton in the Park.

That's the best close option for sure as the best bakery in the area is actually in Edwardsville, IL (222 Artisan Bakery). That's a bit far for a breakfast pastry, however.
