Bye Bye Casa Diaz

slowcooker Jul 6, 2007 11:17 AM

The bad news is, Casa Diaz has been sold by its owners. Home of wonderful food, service, not to mention it's one of Huell Howser's favorite spots in town. How many delicious breakfast burrito's did I eat under your roof, Casa Diaz? Alas, thank you for two fantastic years.

The good news is, Casa Diaz was purchased by the owner's of Yuca's just up Hillhurst. They don't have a new sign up, yet, but I think they picked up the Diaz's amazing recipe for mole in the sale. Also, Yuca's famous carnitas hasn't made the trips down the street to the new location, but I'm told it will soon.

So basically, the Los Lake area is losing some variety in the cheap and delicious eats department, but at least the replacement is most worthy.

Yes, eatingLA.com had a post about its demise and acquisition by Dora Herrera of Yuca's Hut on Hillhurst on May 17.

Well, it works if you just do EatingLA.com without the www first -- I don't know why that is, I'll have to check with the evil web address minions.
