Are you thinking of the place on 18th St. between 5th & 6th? It might have been called "America" and it had a ridiculously extensive menu: sushi, fried chicken, pasta, burgers (none of it very good). Anyway, it's long gone, I'm pretty sure.

If that's the place pcktbks is thinking of, yes, it was called America and it is long gone. That space is now occupied by Rosa Mexicano.

I haven't been, but I can tell you it's a chain. They have them in Philadelphia and Denver, too.
