I am currently studying for the NC Bar exam and spending great amounts of time at NC State's D.H. Hill Library. I was wondering if yall might be able to suggest some places close to campus where I might be able to grab a quick bite (lunch/dinner) for the times when I leave my study carrel (walking distance is preferable though not required). Also, if you know of any specials I should attempt to partake in, please post those as well. All suggestions are greatly appreciated!!!

Hillsborough Street has Porter's (great all-around dining), Two Guys for traditional Italian and bar food at Mitch's along with numerous other places. On Western Avenue, you should check out Baja Burrito at Mission Valley.

Char Grill on Hillsborough iStreet s a great place for a quick, good burger. I can't recall the exact distance from NCSU...my recollection is that it may be a bit far to walk, but would be a short drive.

Melvin's Hamburgers and Char Grill on Hillsborough are both great for a quick burger-fix,

and Neomande Deli is AWESOME if your palate is craving Mediterranean. http://www.neomonde.com/home/ Neomande could be a walk, if you were really up for exercise, but would be a quick ride down Hillsborough (like towards the Fair Grounds/ I-440), turn left on Beryl, go across the RR tracks and hang back left again (it is at the end of that short little road)

If you want to treat yourself, go to the Second Empire (Hillsborough St, too). The meals are ungodly expensive, but they have a Tavern on the ground-level, where you can get some nice appatizers and a refreshing beverage

Nelsons in Cameron Village (close-by) has half-price bar menu until 7:00. You will LOVE their Kobe beef sliders (mini-hamburgers). They also have great shrimp and grits!

GOOD LUCK ON THE BAR!

Sadlack's Heroes is tasty and fun - it's at the corner of Hillsborough and Enterprise. Big, meaty sandwiches, most less than $5.

Good luck on the Bar - I'm in the same boat - and sometimes lunch is all I have to look forward to!
