Location of Los Angeles Kwik-E-Mart?

The Los Angeles Times article says that one of the dozen Kwik-E-Marts set up nationally is in Los Angeles--but it doesn't say where. Anybody know the location?

  1. I'm not sure which one has 'Apu Nahasapeemapetilon' behind the counter but after all the info I've gleaned from you posts re: Chinese restaurants finally I can offer this:

    1. From 7-11's website:
      11143 Venice Boulevard
      Los Angeles, CA 90034

This is close to my house -- might have to check it out. Someone told me they drove by there on Tuesday night at like 11:30 and there were a ton of people in the parking lot.

Thanks. My son went to the one in the Bay Area and he had to wait in line to get inside.

        1. re: Chandavkl

Yeah, ours gets crowded too... especially at night since they got those darn movie light things going...

They also sell out rather quickly... but restock every morning... P. just brought me a Pink Donut for Breakfast and it was PURE sugar... closer to cotton candy than any Donut I've had... Now I'm afraid to try the Krusty-Os!

          1. re: Dommy

WARNING: In this heat wave keep those pink donuts cool! THEY WILL MELT!!! Also, to avoid the crowds, make your visit after midnight. I mean, it's not like they're gonna close...

            1. re: Dommy

Just came back from Venice and Sepulveda. Wasn't that crowded--I'm sure busier than usual, but there were parking spaces available in front. Full of pink donuts but didn't see any Krusty-Os. I presume things will get crazy in the evening.

              1. re: Chandavkl

I went about 1:00pm and all they had were pink donuts and squishies of course. Everything else was sold out

              2. re: Dommy

I had one of the pink donuts last night. It's a glazed donut covered with pink frosting and sprinkles. It was really fresh and good and made me feel gross after eating it but I dont' care and am totally going to buy one whenever I stop by. THE END.

          2. There is one on Venice and Sepulveda in West LA

            1. There's one in Burbank (Olive and Verdugo). Stopped in for some Krusty-O's cereal.

Some regular 7-11s have buzz cola too.

                      1. re: kek is khmer

That's interesting and it shows what a great promo/idea this is.

I normally don't shop at 7-Eleven (although on a rare occasion I will go in for one of their nachos), but because of the Kwik-E-Mart makeover, I've now stopped in 2x in the past of couple days.

                        1. re: ipsedixit

not the nachos, ipse anything but the nachos. i've lost all faith in you.

                            1. re: ipsedixit

As Homer once said to Apu at the Kwik-E-Mart:

"I'm looking for something of an after-dinner burrito..."

                    2. re: alliebear

They don't sell Duff Beer -- I'm told -- because it's a PG-13 movie promotion and they are trying to lure in kids.

Cans of Duff would have been great collector's items.

                      1. re: PaulF

                        bwahahah! Duff cans exist!

Fox had my husband make some for a birthday basket for Groening they commisioned from his workplace. he made a 6 pack. Thye looked great. So I guess Groening's got a 6er of duff

                        1. re: Diana

I just meant they aren't selling them in the Kwik-E-Mart.

I've got a can of Boy Howdy beer from Creem Magazine. That's pretty good, huh?

                          1. re: PaulF

I would really like a Billy Beer can. It was actually beer, I know (well, that's debateable) but I just want one. the beer don't need to be inside.

                    3. re: ipsedixit

I saw Krusty Os at the 7-11 on RIverside and Camarillo , so I guess some of the stuff is at non-Kwik E mart locations.

                      1. re: kiwi

Regular 7-11s haver their Slurpee machines appear as "Squishee" machines and their soda dispensers say "Buzz Cola." They're also in on the Simpsons marketing thing, though not to the same extend as the K-E-M's.

                        1. re: kiwi

Yep my son really wanted some Buzz Cola but when we went to the Kwik-e mart it was all sold out but they had a ton of it at the 7-11 in Inglewood.

                      2. When I drove by the one on Venice and Sepulveda the other day there was a line out the door and parking enforcement in full effect.

                        1. Two locations in the L.A. Area:

                          Burbank - 1611 West Olive, Burbank, CA (818) 842-1210

West L.A. - 11143 Venice Blvd. (at Sepulveda), Los Angeles, CA *310) 397-1522

                            1. We drove by the Burbank location around 11:00 pm last night and there was a long line stretching around the corner. We didn't wait in line.

                              1. OK...I'm going to the Venice Blvd one tomorrow morning... with a young woman who's first word she could read was "Simpsons!". (she just turned 20....so she was all of three years old then) This is a trek from Torrance...so....where should we have a wonderful CH lunch nearby?

Cafe Brasil! Trust me: Cafe Brasil. The one on Venice, just a few blocks down.

                                  1. re: mke2lax

Tito's Tacos or Johnny's Pastrami on Sepulveda and Wahington Bl.

                                    1. re: gaylenwaydelich

                                      Ick, Tito's... I don't understand that place.

I would vote Sabor a Mexico or even Fassica.

                                      1. re: Das Ubergeek

I like Tito's although it's more TexMex than hard core Mexican. Obviously they are doing something right as witnessed by the ever-present lines. My niece and her husband drive up for Tito's from Carlsbad. It's a nostalic thing.

                                  2. So I stopped at the one at Venice & Supulveda today around 11am. They were out of EVERYTHING Simpsons-related, and there were still people flocking it. (All leaving disappointed.) I didn't have a chance to ask when they would be restocking sicne I wanted to get out at that point. Anyone know?

They restock in the early Mornings and late evenings... There is usually a frazzled looking lady from Fox there and you can ask her...

                                      1. re: QualityMart

Well they still haven't restocked any Simpsons items. I called them and they originally said they were getting new stock tonight but now are telling me not untill Wednesday.

                                        1. re: QualityMart

So sorry to hear that... the first few days they were restocking daily... sometimes twice a day... but then again I was getting text messages about it from the "kids" I used to organize Comic Cons with....

                                          1. re: Dommy

Ok I finally got one of the store guys to admit that they do have limited amounts of stuff in stock but are bringing it out in limited quantities once or twice a day. Nothing wrong with that, but previous people kept telling me they were completely sold out. (And it's possible that they were, over the weekend.) In any case, I finally managed to nab a box of Krusty-O's and some other stuff around midnight last night. The place was mobbed! a constant line of 20-30 people for at least an hour even as people got through there quickly. My advice to anyone interested is to just keep calling, and strike quickly if they have stuff.

                                      2. I heard they sell Radioactive Man comics too.

                                        2. Anyone got an update on which location has any Krusty O's or radioactive man comics? I went to the one in palms on Saturday and they were out of both. I dont know if they were completely out or just restocking later but I didn't even see empty shelf space for where they might have been.

You have to just call and call and call, and then double check before you go by calling again, and then hope that between when you leave the house and when you get there stuff hasn't sold out. Although they've been pretty good about saying "we'll put the next batch out at noon tomorrow" or whatever, but I don't know how reliable that is. It's crazy.

(In other words, nothing lasts on the shelves for more than a few hours, if even that. So you have to time it right when they put it out. It's harder than getting a Nintendo Wii!)

                                            1. re: QualityMart

i talked to the guy from the studio today. he said that they are getting kwik-e-mart hats today (monday), getting more itchy and scratchy bobleheads tuesday, and finally more krusty-os, buzz cola, etc on wed. One of the employees said to come around 1-2pm since that is when the fedex driver drops stuff off and when they put stuff out. otherwise yes try calling if you can get thru and actually get someone to answer the phone. i did buy some doughnuts though

                                              1. re: AGENT FOODIE

Agent Foodie, was that for all the locations or just the Burbank one?

QualityMart, it took me 3 months to find a wii. I hope Krusty O's aren't that hard to find. :)

                                          2. Went to the Burbank one and it was very busy , not mobbed but controlled with a security guard, thay had a LOT of the products... although no radioactive man comics...

Went there today. Krusty-O's are discontinued. But, they did have Buzz Cola and the pink donuts. Not very busy at noon.
