Restaurants with best vegetarian food in the world?

Doesn't have to be exclusively vegetarian food, just amazing vegetarian food...

I ate completely vegetarian in London - lots of great Indian as well as pure Vegan restaurants.

My vote goes for the veg tasting menu at Oleana in Cambridge, MA, run by James Beard Award winner Ana Sortun. Very imaginative, with Turkish/Mediterranean influences. Multiple courses, always different. Especially great if two or more in your party order it, because each person's courses will be different from others' at the table. At $40, it's a steal. Some of the best food I've ever had.

The best vegetarian in the world is in India. Hands down. I'm a total meat-aholic and was ridiculously happy eating mostly veg in India.

I'll toss in my own suggestion of the vegetarian tasting menu at Per Se. And a nameless roadside diner in India whose location I've long forgotten and which served me the most amazing channa bhatura - see http://images.google.com/images?um=1&...

I can't speak to Per Se, but my fiancee had the vegetarian tasting menu at French Laundry, and we were both blown away (more creative than the regular tasting menu that I had).

There's a one or two star in Paris, I think near the Eiffel, that's veg. It sounds amazing.

I always liked Old Wives' Tales when I lived in Portland.
