Arthur Ave--3pm

Would like to eat near Arthur Avenue around 3pm tomorrow (Fri). A place that has good seafood salad (calamari, scungilli, maybe shrimp) would be a plus as well as good basic italian-american. Need a restaurant that is open mid-afternoon so as not to be faced with "lunch is over, not open for dinner till 5pm". Thanks for recs.

Thank you Dave and Cheese Boy, although Umberto's looks a little suspect with the invitation for bus tours and the $6 Buds and $7 Peronis.

Any idea which shop would have the best pignoli cookies. I think someone once told me that the prices on these varied quite a bit at the different shops as did the quality.

If the seafood salad isn't essential, consider the vinyl-tablecloth Cafe al Mercato, inside the Arthur Avenue Retail Market: http://nymag.com/listings/restaurant/.... Loved the rigatoni di Campagna; be sure the counterman hands you enough bread to sop up the garlic-and-oil sauce.

I can't vouch for their food, but their MAIN menu has all that you're looking for -- Umberto's.
My other rec would be Enzo's, but I've only eaten at their Williamsbridge Rd location.
